Care First Urgent Care in Pekin hosted an open house Saturday, Feb. 1, to celebrate their one year anniversary in the community. The health care facility is located at 7820 S. Voyles Road.
For their anniversary celebration, the staff provided several raffle drawings, cookies from Sandy’s Custom Cakes, gift cards, and goodie bags filled with adhesive bandages, hand sanitizer, tissues, lip balm, and a magnet with Care First information.
What sets Care First apart from other medical facilities is there are little to no wait times for patients, and the facility is open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Providing quality, personal service to customers is a priority for the medical team.
Staff members include Savanna Voyles, who is a medical assistant and also manages the facility; full-time nurse practitioner Nicole, APRN; part-time practitioner Andrea Thomas, PRN; and receptionist Sheryl Holman.
The facility is spacious, welcoming and handicapped accessible. It features three exam rooms, a triage room, and a procedure room. “We try to make it very convenient for the patient,” said Voyles.
Care First addresses every health concern and also provides sports physicals for students. However, it does not provide Department of Transportation physicals.
Nearly all types of insurance policies are accepted, except Kentucky Medicaid.
While there is no x-ray machine on the premises, the staff can usually receive same-day results from x-rays performed at certain area x-ray departments.
There is a location in the front yard that serves as a landing pad for stat flight helicopter ambulances.
Care First is open Mondays through Thursdays 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is closed Fridays and Sundays.
Area residents are fortunate to have quick access to top quality medical care with personalized hometown attention.
