Roger Lee McCleery
Roger Lee McCleery, age 78 of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away Tuesday,
February 18, 2025 at 9:30 pm, in Norton Hospital Louisville, Kentucky.
Born August 27, 1946 in Scottsburg, Indiana, he was the son of the late
Charles and Mae (Sutherland) McCleery.
On December 14, 1962 he married his high school sweetheart Tina Mae (Lee) McCleery.
He retired from truck driving after 43 years and for the last 25 years he
owned and operated his own truck. In his free time he loved to tinker
with what he called "junk". He also loved to collect and trade things
such as single shot shotguns, cars, knives, lawn mowers, and watches. He
liked to listen to and sing along with country and gospel music.
Survivors include: Wife: Tina Mae (Lee) McCleery; Daughter: Bonnie (Wes)
Howard of Austin, Indiana; Daughter: Vickie (Woodie) Taylor of
Scottsburg, Indiana; Son: Roger Dale (Melissa) McCleery of Scottsburg,
Indiana; Daughter: Tina Marie Densford of Crothersville, Indiana;
Daughter: Kathy (Chris) Feicht; Son: Bryan Lee McCleery; Daughter:
Melissa Ann McCleery. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 23 great
grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Mae McCleary, a daughter Janice Kay McCleery, a son Travis Lee McCleery and a grandson Brian Adam Hensley.
Funeral Service: 2:00 pm Monday at Dawalt Funeral Home with Bro. Randy
Albertson officiating.
Visitation: 10 am to 2 pm Monday.
Interment at Little York Cemetery.
