Ruth Deaton Mallory
Ruth Deaton Mallory, 84, passed away on February 17, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky.
She was born February 12, 1941 in Kentucky to John Logan and Beulah Deaton. Ruth graduated in the class of 1961 at Salem High School. She married Charley D. Mallory, Sr. on June 3, 1961 and he preceded her in death on November 13, 2003. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family. Throughout her life, she cared for many children, and loved to garden and enjoyed quilting.
Ruth is survived by her children Charley (Sharry) Mallory, of Scottsburg, IN, and Carol (Brad) Whetzel, of Pewee Valley, KY., her sister and brothers, Malvery (Ron) McKim of New Albany, Walter (Sue) Deaton of Scottsburg, William Deaton of Scottsburg and Ronnel Deaton also of Scottsburg, her grandchildren, Thomas Mallory of Jeffersonville and Patrick (Jodi) Mallory of Scottsburg and great-grandchildren, Joseph Mallory and Adaline Mallory both of Scottsburg. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Charley Mallory, Sr., Her parents, and brothers, Samuel Deaton and John Deaton.
The service for Ruth Mallory will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Collins Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm.
Burial will follow at Scottsburg Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made in Ruth's name to the Alzheimers Association through Collins Funeral Home. Please share memories and condolences at www.collinsfuneralhome.net.
