June 3, 1950 Deniece Williams, American pop singer (“Love Won’t Le Me Wait”, “Let’s Hear It For The Boy”), born in Gary.


June 4, 1918 Charles Warren Fairbanks died at his home in Indianapolis. He had served as United States Senator from Indiana and Vice President under Theodore Roosevelt. His body lay in state in the rotunda of the Indiana Statehouse.  


 

June 7, 1900 Frederick Terman, American professor of engineering at Stanford University known as the “father of Silicon Valley”, born in English, Indiana.


June 7, 1902 Herman B. Wells, President and chancellor of Indiana University, born in Jamestown, Indiana.
