The rough skid for the Lady Lions continued on Friday night when Corydon came to town. Salem hung tough as long as they could, but turnovers in the second half allowed the Panthers to pull away for the 65-26 win.
Both teams were a little sluggish in the first quarter, but Corydon started to build their lead in the second. Alexis Maudlin knocked down a three to try and keep Salem hanging around, trailing 24-9. Another triple from Payslea Chastain made it 33-12 late in the half.
Both offenses struggled in the third quarter with neither scoring double digits, but Corydon reasserted control in the fourth quarter to start pulling away again. Chastain hit back to back threes to make it a 42-23 game before Corydon ran away to close the game out with a 23-3 run.
Salem will host North Harrison on Thursday evening.
