AWC Chili Cook Off Returns

The Awareness Washington County Board of Directors announced that the 8th Annual Chili Cook Off will be held this year on March 8 from 4-7 pm at Southern Hills Church.
The popular community event will feature a variety of chilis, homemade desserts at auction, children’s activities, a silent auction, and the always popular bag raffles.
The cook off offers cash prizes for the judged Best Red Chili, Best Judged White Chili, Best Decorated Booth and the People’s Choice award.
There is space for 12 teams, so interested chili chefs should go to www.awarenesswashingtoncounty.org or contact Marji Morris at 812-216-6505 for an entry form and more information. There is no fee to enter.
“Business owners, non-profits, and future candidates for office should definitely sign up for a booth,” Marji Morris, one of the co-chairs, said. “This is a great way to get your organization or yourself in front of the public for only the cost of three crockpots of chili. But I recommend signing up soon,” she continued. As of this writing, there are only two booths still available.
Morris predicts a large crowd again this year. “The AWC Chili Cook Off has turned into a big social event as well as an opportunity to taste a large variety of chilis and grab a delicious homemade dessert or two in the auction.”
Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Jalapeno sponsorship is $500 or more, Hot is $250 or more, and Spicy is $100. Sponsors will be recognized at the event on table tents listing their names and the level of sponsorship, which will be seen by the hundreds of guests present. Sponsors will also be acknowledged on the AWC social media pages and on its website.
The sponsorship will help adults in the community become more confident and competent in their lives as servant leaders as they continue their training.
To become a sponsor of the event, contact Morris at the phone number above or via Facebook messenger.
