Governor Mike Braun hosted a fireside chat on February 4 with constituents to listen to the impact that skyrocketing property taxes have had on Hoosiers. Gov. Braun has travelled the state and heard from many families that they are struggling due to increased property tax bills. Through Gov. Braun's Freedom and Opportunity Agenda, Hoosiers will get much needed property tax relief.
"I want to thank Mark Gross and Jennie Reith for taking time out of their day to talk with me today about how property taxes are impacting their daily lives. Households across Indiana have seen their property taxes increase, some by double!" said Governor Braun. "Senate Bill 1 on property tax relief had its first hearing in committee today and many Hoosiers showed up to express their support. This bill will cut property taxes, cap future increases, and reform the tax system to provide much needed relief for Hoosiers. All taxpayers should make their voices heard like Mark and Jennie did today. I encourage taxpayers to reach out to their legislators to express their concerns about property taxes and the need for relief."
