Gail Napier has been at the helm of the Salem Washington County Senior Center since its inception. Napier is retiring turning over the helm to Naomi Raye who has been by her side for almost the beginning. 

 

Salem Lions Club member Marvin Clark was presented a Melvin Jones Fellowship for his outstanding service to the Club and to the community of Salem and Washington County. Marvin was recognized for his service to the club, having previously served as both a president and director of the club. 

 

2016 Salem High School graduate Cameron Davidson will be interning at the U.S. Embassy in Madrid, Spain.

 

The Lady Lions had a big road test when they traveled to take on the no.9 ranked team in 3A, Silver Creek. Salem was tested but led almost the whole way and thanks to a late 7-0 run they came out with a 48-44 win.

 

The John Hay project is nearing completion. The dam on the lake was extended 4.75 feet.

 

West Washington boys got two wins. One on the road at Perry Central 42-40 and the other at home over Edinburgh 54-48. This was their 6th straight win.
