The Culture Club was entertained at the home of Miss Dora Etzler. Twelve were present.

 

The chemistry class of Salem High School with principal Elwood E. Brooks in charge visited the Neal Refrigerating Plant and had a fine opportunity of studying the ammonia system used. The machinery was set in motion and the actual process of operation was demonstrated to the pupils. 

 

V.T. Reid left for South Bend to sign up his 50th contract with the Oliver Chilled Plow Co. He will be the guest of the the president, Joseph Oliver, the oldest member of the company. 

 

Roger K. Voyles is in Bloomington attending the Indiana-Purdue ball game.

 

The annual basketball classic between Salem and Orleans High School proved to be a thrilling and spectacular battle with either team a possible winner up to the final gun. But the local boys had the needed fight and stamina to grab a victory by 35 to 32. 

 

The Euterpean Guild met at the home of Mrs. Frederick Batt, 29 members responded to roll call with bible quotations.
