The First Christian Church turned over a portion of the old elementary school property to the City of Salem for use as a neighborhood playground. 

 

Karen Hamilton has been named West Washington's 74-75 Betty Crocker Family Leader of Tomorrow. Karen won the honor by competing with other seniors in the written knowledge and attitude examination.

Salem High School baseball coach John D. Fultz was one of 38 coaches honored by the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Strong of Marshall Monuments, Inc., Salem, attended the 66th Annual Convention of the Monument Builders of North America at the Contemporary Hotel in Orlando, Florida. 

 

Three Washington County women have been named to the fall semester honor roll at Indiana State University, Terre Haute; Lois Bowers, Pamela Morris and Teresa Smedley.
