Thunder Valley track events in jeopardy

The Washington County Fair brings with it popular, nightly events at the Thunder Valley Raceway at the foot of the hill. However, all the rain we've received has put those events in jeopardy.

Steve Leonard, owner of the track, said the rodeo was postponed until late September and Tuesday night's ATV races have been cancelled and postponed as well. He said the motorcross racing event scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday has now been cancelled.

The fair board said Wednesday they are planning to hold the remaining events this week. However, if there is more rain, that could change. Vice-President Cheryl Lee said a determination will be made each day regarding that night's event.
