Ratts sets school record

The Salem High School volleyball team not only picked up a big win over Eastern Monday night 3-0, 25-21, 25-19, 25-12, senior Abigail Ratts set a school record.

Ratts had 12 solo blocks in the match which aided the Lions in their sweep of the Lady Musketeers.

“Abigail is doing great this year,” said SHS Head Coach Straton Thomas, who teaches at Eastern. “Her blocking has really taken a turn the last two matches we have had. We played a really tough Corydon team and beat them in three, and then to have 12 solo blocks last night was huge. She did it on the 24th point in the third game, so she barely got it.

She and Maycie Gilliatt have taken turns doing really big things this year. I wanted to say that they both have also tied the record for most kills in a night - I’m waiting for one of them to break that one also!”
