A familiar face, Chuck Barnes, Sr., was in the winner's circle again, as he took the checkered flag for the Halloween 200.

Jamie Bierman was the short track oval winner in the weekend that was full of racing action.
Salem Speedway celebrated the Halloween Holiday on October 21 with three days of activities.
Friday, Oct. 20 was Trunk-or-Treat on the front stretch with a line of race car and a costume contest.
Saturday was filled with races all day. First was the Crown Vics 30 lap race on the small track. This was won by Jamie Harbin as the leaders crashed with three laps to go. Second was Derek Smith and third was Nick Payne. The Crown Vic figure 8 cars were next on the short track with Jacob Robertson and Daniel Lister battling thorough traffic as Robertson won and was crowned track figure 8 champion. Brandon Coulter won the Burn-out contest in his Chevy Camaro. The racing then turned to the high banks with the Salem Super cars. Super car champion Will Kimmel was the winner with Shayne Slider second and Scott Melton third. Then it was time for the Crown Vic Spooky 200 with planned pit stops and 66 cars. The caution marred race was won by Noah Allison and track division champion Daniel Durrett second. Third was Jeremy Lairson
On Sunday racing continued as the Legend series took to the track in their mini coup cars of yesteryear. After 30 laps it was Ashton Murello first, second Xavier King and third Clayton Bohanon. Things got wild as the Scrapper took to the Kidney Bean track for 25 laps. Tony Kelly survived the mayhem while pursued by second place Michael Phillips. Then it was time for the 35th Annual Halloween 200. The track new score board and corner lights made for great improvement. Chuck Barnes Jr. was the winner in this classic. Barnes won $10,000 and a Crosley Jukebox. Second charging Brett Hudson and third Track GAS Champ Heath Helton.
