Kentuckiana Kart Racing awards banquet

Taylor Ervin was voted most improved driver.

Kentuckiana Kart Racing held its annual season championship banquet, Saturday, Jan. 14, at Eastside Christian Church. They race at the Sportsdrome in Jeffersonville on Friday nights and sometimes with the stock cars on Saturday nights.
Two hundred forty enthusiastic people including drivers, family members and fans attended.  The drivers vary in age, from five years old to adults.
Marks Feed store catered the event. Host and promoter Dean Worrall handed out some 32 trophies, plaques and various other gifts of thanks to those that helped during the season. All mothers of the young Go Kart drivers were brought up front and recognized.
Drivers race in ten classes, from the youngest drivers to the fifteen year old “Young guns,” driving front wheel street cars. Go Karts are no longer a male only sport, either as seven female drivers received trophies and plaque for their outstanding work.
Taylor Ervin was the most improved, youth driver and most improved adult driver was Skylar Castleman, both females. Porter Romeo was Sportsman of the year.
Brandon Hooker, owner of Diesel Boys LLC., furnished several door prizes.
