Eastern High School crowned their homecoming court. Prince Marcus Martin, Princess Libby Heavner, King Demetrius McKinley and Queen Isabell Claywell.

 

Jimmy Gibson, a sophomore at Salem High School was a finalist at Mitchell's Persimmon Festival Idol Competition. 

 

The Salem Marching Lions took 1st place in the ISSMA Scholastic Class competition. Eastern's Musketeer Brigade took 4th place.

 

Bellarmine University in Louisville has named Linza Busick to the dean's list. Busick is a graduate of Orleans Junior Senior High School. 

 

Luella Purkhiser was surprised and honored at the meeting of the Piecemakers Quilt Guild for being one of the original 17 that started the club.

 

The Hicksite Meeting House Church on Quaker Road is the oldest church in the county dating back to 1815. It is also the oldest meeting house in Indiana.
