Terry Lynn Crockett, age 74 of Carmel, Indiana passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021 in Avow Hospice in Naples, Florida, after a short illness.

Born December 10,1946 in Salem, Indiana, he was the son of the late Willis D. Crockett and Emma Lou (Roberts) Crockett.

He was a resident of Washington County through his high school years, participating in band, sports activities and DeMolay After graduation in 1965 from Salem High School, he attended Vincennes University, and completed his college education at Indiana University, with a BA in Business Administration. During his high school years and early college years, he dated Teresa Walker, and in 1969 they were married. After a few moves, they landed in Carmel, Indiana, where they have lived for the past 45 years. They were blessed with 2 wonderful children, Todd David, and Tori Lane. Living in Carmel, they were able to keep close contacts with family and friends in Salem, their hometown. Terry and Teresa celebrated 52 wonderful years of marriage in March, 2021.

Terry worked in the food service industry, eventually retiring in 2008 from Bocar, a family based food brokerage firm in Carmel, Indiana. He traveled the state of Indiana, and surrounding areas over his career, servicing many accounts and making many lifelong friends along the way. He was honest, had high morals, and was a loyal employee and friend in the workplace. He always conducted business with respect for others.

After retirement, Terry and wife, Teresa, spent winters in Naples, Florida, where their daughter Tori, husband Brian, and grandson, Cooper reside. He cherished these years being with his grandson and watching him grow and mature into a special young man.

Terry loved to serve others, and was involved in ministries in his churches, earlier at Crestview Christian Church in Indianapolis, Indiana and presently, Zionsville Presbyterian Church in Zionsville, Indiana. He was active as a deacon, elder, participating in many ministries in both churches, and also The Great Banquet. In early 2000, he became involved in the international organization of Kairos Prison Ministry, both in Indiana and in Florida, during the winter months. In the Kairos organization, he was active on the state, national and international level. He had been state chair of Indiana and was recently Chair of the Board of Directors of the international organization. He loved serving in many aspects, and also participated in serving in the food pantry at his home church in Zionsville and also in Naples, through St. Matthew's House. He was also active in working at the county jail in Naples with a chaplain there. He loved helping others in any way he was called to do so.

Survivors include:

Wife: Teresa Ann (Walker) Crockett

Daughter: Tori Crockett Gartz, Brian Gartz, and grandson, Cooper Gartz, of Naples, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his son, Todd D. Crockett.

There will be a graveside service on Saturday, June 12th at 11:00 am at Crown Hill Cemetery, Salem Indiana.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Zionsville Presbyterian Church on Sunday, June 13 at 3:00 p.m.
