Steve Carpenter, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away January 12, 2022 at the age of 61. He was born December 31, 1960 to the late Melvin & Jacqueline (Logan) Carpenter in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He grew up in Tuttle Oklahoma and graduated from Tuttle High School in 1979. This is where he started a family and his love of dirt track racing began, as evident by the Sprint car track he built in his own back yard. He became a lifelong federal employee, starting his career at Tinker Airforce base in Oklahoma and then transferring to Naval Ordinance in Louisville, Kentucky in 1991. In 1992 he transferred to Crane Naval base where he worked as a Mechanical Engineer Technician for 30 years. He was known as a hard worker and a friend to everyone, as well as self professed chaos agent who loved pranking others or making them laugh with his quick wit.

When he wasn't at work, you could always find him at a racetrack either selling t-shirts and race parts or in the pits promoting his very own N10S Motor Sports team. He also loved his Corvettes and Oklahoma Sooner football. He attended First Capital Christian Church in Corydon and had a radical compassion to be like Jesus by helping others with "extravagant generosity"  Some knew him as the man, the myth, and the legend. He married Lori (Pease) Carpenter on October 14, 2011 and they were happily married for 10 years.

He is survived by his wife, Lori. Two daughters: Ashleigh (Carpenter) Hulse and Kelynn Carpenter both of Augusta, Kansas; two stepdaughters: Aleigha Robson of Ramsey and Melanie Fraze of New Salisbury; two stepsons: Doug Phrampus of Ramsey and Seth Phrampus of Salem; One sister: Tricia Price and her children of Oklahoma and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Tina.

Visitation: 10 am until the time of the service on Saturday.
