Roman David Whitener, age 25 of Salem, Indiana passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021, in his residence. 

Born August 31, 1995 in Jeffersonville, Indiana, he was the son of David T. Whitener and Catherine L. (Warneke) Whitener. 
Roman was a lifelong resident of Washington County and a 2014 graduate of Salem High School.  
He was a former member of Mt. Tabor Christian Church and a member of the Critical Hits Gaming Club. He had been an employee of The U. S. Census Bureau and former employee of Walmart in Salem. 

Survivors include:   
Mother: Catherine Whitener of Salem;   
Father: David Whitener of Salem;
2 Sisters: Mackenzie Whitener of Salem and Jessica Staser of Jeffersonville;  
Nephew: Travis Kelley;
Nieces: Destiny & Hailey Hill;
Grandmother: Judith Bowman;      
3 Aunts and 2 Uncles.

Roman was preceded in death by his grandparents: Logan T. Whitener and W. Jean Whitener and grandfather Frederick P. Warneke Jr.  
  
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Friday, 4/30/21 and 10 am to 1 pm Saturday, 5/1/21 at Dawalt Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Saturday, 5/1/21 at Dawalt Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Huffaker officiating.
