Rebecca Brewer

Mrs. Rebecca Lynn Deaton Brewer, age 66, of Salem, went to be with God Monday, June 14 at her home surrounded by family.

Mrs. Brewer was born October 19, 1954 in Salem the daughter of Luther and Lola Mae Powell Deaton. She was a member of Westview Christian Church, where her greatest passion in life was teaching Sunday School. Rebecca was a 1973 graduate of Salem High School. She was retired from the Orthopedic Surgeons of Jeffersonville. Rebecca loved seeing Gods beautiful creations while traveling with her husband. She was also an avid woodworker and gardener. Rebecca will always be remembered for her beautiful smile that cheered people up in difficult times.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Tommy Joe Brewer they were married April 19, 1973. Also surviving is her mother: Lola Mae Deaton, brother: Steven Deaton, and nephew: Jason Deaton. She is preceded in death by her father: Luther Deaton.

A graveside service will be held at 11AM Saturday, June 19 at Crown Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
