Mr. Luther A. Armstrong, age 60, of Salem, passed away Saturday, November 19 at his home.

Mr. Armstrong was born September 14, 1962, in Salem the son of John Dudley (J.D.) and Mayme Sageser Armstrong.  He was a graduate of West Washington High School, Class of 1980.  He was a retired employee of the Town of Orleans.  Luther was a huge race fan of the Blue Crew and always willing to help family and friends.  He was a member of Fishing Creek Christian Church.

Luther is survived by his wife:  Nita Lewis Armstrong of Salem.  They were married January 1, 2019.  He is also survived by two children:  Anthony Armstrong (Erin) of Orleans, Kayla Howard (Garon) of Mitchell, the mother of his children:  Denise Armstrong of Mitchell, a step-son:  Chris Batchelor (Melissa) of Corydon, a step-daughter:  Amanda Reynolds (Adam) of Campbellsburg, five brothers:  Jimmy Armstrong of Paoli, Eddie Armstrong of Corbin, Kentucky, Orville Armstrong of Pekin, John Stearns of Louisville, Kentucky, and Roy Armstrong of Louisville, Kentucky, one sister:  Eva Armstrong of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and 4 step-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers:  Bill Stearns and James C. Armstrong, and three sisters:  Patricia Embree, Rose Smith, and Freida Embree.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1PM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Campbellsburg.  Visitation will be Friday from 10AM-time of service.
