Mr. Kenneth Max Boling, age 80, of Salem, passed away Friday, January 20 at his home.

Mr. Boling was born December 22, 1942, in Salem, Indiana the son of Alfred L. and Stella Medlock Boling.  He worked at the Salem Police Department for 32 years, 18 of those as police chief.  After retirement from the police department, he worked as bailiff for the Washington Circuit Court.  He was a member of Sugar Creek Christian Church and attended Mt. Tabor Christian Church.  He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

Mr. Boling is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Souder Boling of Salem, one son:  Chris Boling (Brenda) of Salem, a granddaughter:  Natalie Boling (Chris Hubbard)  of Salem, and a sister:  Mary Mead (John) of Salem.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1PM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 9AM-time of service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wonder Valley Christian Camp, 7093 W. Wonder Valley Road, Salem, IN 47167.
