Johnnie Smith

Johnnie "Smitty" Smith, 48, of Austin, Indiana, died on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, at his residence. Born on July 6, 1971, in Austin, Indiana, he was the son of the late Harry and Amy (Collins) Smith.

Smitty graduated high school in Kentucky and then attended a technical college earning a mechanic's degree. He was a former welder for Total Concepts of Design in Scottsburg, Indiana, was a part-time tatoo artist and enjoyed rebuilding motorcycles. 

Survivors include a daughter, Mandy Smith and fiance' Jason Floyd of Salem; his fiancé, Christie Holstein of Deputy, Indiana; a stepdaughter, Brooklynn Nickole Holstein of Deputy; two brothers, Mike Smith of Georgia and Joseph Smith of Texas; and two grandchildren, Destiny Michelle and Chance Xavier Floyd.

Cremation services were entrusted to Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg. A celebration of Smitty's life will be announced at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be given to Collins Funeral Home to help with his final expenses, 465 W.
