James “Larry” Powers, 80, passed away Monday, May 22, 2023 in his home in Salem, Indiana.

Mr. Powers was born January 19, 1943 in Paoli Indiana. The son of James Herman Powers and Mary Jane Diley Powers. He was retired from the Labor Union local number 795 and an Army Veteran.

Larry was survived by his wife, Wanda Powers. They were married on June 30, 1967. He was also survived by his son James Jason Powers of Salem and his daughter Brandy Baker (Travis) of Borden, also survived by his brother Jerry Powers (Wilma) of Scottsburg. He was also survived by six grandchildren: Elijah Baker, Kye Baker, Kree Baker, Jadon Powers, Talon Powers and Lucion Powers.

Mr. Powers was preceded in death by his parents, James Herman Powers and Mary Jane Diley Powers, a brother Jasper Powers and two sisters: Sarah Andis and Dorothy Beyke.

Services will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 6:00P.M at Weathers Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday May 25 from 3:00p.m until the time of service.
