James L. "Jim" Rudder, 92, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was born on August 26, 1928, in Salem, Indiana, the son of the late Roger Rudder and Lillian (Short) Hinton. On April 8, 1949, he married his wife Elizabeth (Huff) Rudder, who passed away on August 1, 1997. Jim owned and operated Rudder Electric in Scottsburg, Indiana for 60 years. The highlight of his career was being sent by Borg-Warner to teach his electrical gifts to his Japanese affiliates. Jim was a lifetime member of the Zoah Christian Church. He served in the Nation Guard for 27 years as a Master Sergeant. He was a true patriot to his country, community, and family. Jim loved fishing, traveling and also enjoyed history. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his son, Rodney Rudder. Survivors include Betty Robbins, daughter, Sheila L. Rudder; daughter-in-law Dianna Rudder, four grandchildren, Cory Rudder (Allison), Kelley Rudder (Julie), Kerry Manke (Paul); Ryan Jones (Senna); 11 great-great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Zach, Evelyn, and Will Rudder, and Karl and Caroline Manke, Cody Newsome, Cayden Colon and Hayden, Hayzlea, and Hayclyn Jones and 2 great-great-grandchildren Evrin and Emmett Newsome. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Collins Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 am to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem, Indiana. Memorial Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in c/o Collins Funeral Home, Scottsburg, Indiana.
