Elmer Sizemore

Elmer Ray Sizemore, 88, Palmyra, died at the Beehive Homes of Georgetown on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021. He was born on Nov. 30, 1932, in Manchester, Kentucky, to Henry J. and Grace Sizemore. Elmer married Frances (Holland) Sizemore on May 5, 1956.

He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Hardinsburg. Elmer was a longtime resident of Palmyra, residing within the town for more than 57 years. He worked as a truck driver for several years. Elmer was an avid UK fan, enjoyed hunting, fishing and many outdoor activities. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Bernard Sizemore, Blevins Sizemore, Butler Sizemore, and Roland Collette.

Elmer is survived by his wife of 65 years; two daughters, Diana (Pat) Cardwell, Hattie (Mike) Matherly; two sons, Thomas (Phyllis) Sizemore, Tony (Sara) Sizemore; one brother, Oliver (Donna) Sizemore; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 22, at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 21, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and again on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service, at the funeral home.
