Delmer "Grandpa" Strong

Delmer "Grandpa" Strong, age 92 of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away Friday, July 29, 2022 at 1:37pm, in his residence. 
Born April 8, 1930 in Chavies, Kentucky, he was the son of Carlo Strong and Pearl (Baker) Strong.
A resident of Washington County since 1986, formerly of St. Petersburg, Florida.
He was the co-owner of Strongs' HVAC Repair and Installation in Little York and a member of the Little York Christian Church.
He served in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne Division.
On March 25,1981 he married Bonnie C. (Foley) Strong, who passed away January 30, 2019.  Grandpa was a member of the Southern Cruiser's Riding Club Chapter 372 in Scottsburg, Indiana and loved to ride across the countryside on his motorcycle, fishing, spending time with family and his beloved animals.

Survivors include:   
Daughter: Nancy (John) Hahn of Osceola, Indiana;   
Son: Tom (Nancy) Stump of North Liberty, Indiana.
Granddaughter: Michele (Jim) Litteral of Mishawaka, Indiana;   
Granddaughter: Rebecca (Gery) Mullins of Mishawaka, Indiana;     
Granddaughter: Kristy (Adam) Kelly of Salem, Indiana;   
He is also survived by: 9 great grandchildren,  5 great great grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, 1 granddaughter, Angela Brooks 
Siblings: Alex, Mabel, Arnold, Curt, Rita, Maudella, Bert and Lillie Jean Strong.  

Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Tuesday and 10 to 11 am Wednesday at Dawalt Funeral Home
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Wednesday at Dawalt Funeral Home with Caleb Toliver & Marc Carr officiating.  
Interment will follow at Little York Cemetery with full military honors.
