Cheryl Barnett

Cheryl Lee Barnett, 71,  Salem, died on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, at her residence. Born on Feb. 15, 1949, in Freemont, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Joyce (Whieten) Deater.

Cheryl was a private home health caregiver. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Barnett and a sister, Judy Deater. 

Survivors include two sons, Jason Sonke of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Mike Peterson of Scottsburg; three brothers, Tom Deater of Grant, Michigan, Floyd Deater of San Antonio, Texas and John Deater of Whitehall, Michigan; and six grandchildren, William, Julia and Blake Peterson, Desarae, Layla and Tyler Sonke.

Cremation services were entrusted to Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
