Barbara Jean Massey

Barbara Jean (Setser) Massey, age 87, Salem, passed away at Meadow View Health and Rehab in Salem.

She was born in Salem, to Everett and Zola (Criswell) Setser on July 6, 1934. Barb was a 1953 graduate of Hardinsburg High School. She worked and retired as a seamstress for Leweb industries in Salem. Barb was a member of the Kansas Church of Christ in Salem. She enjoyed embroidery, sewing, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren.

Barb is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence Massey; three sons, Bill E. Setser, Greg Thompson; infant son Brian; and one brother, Gerald Setser.

She is survived by her five grandchildren, Greta (Adam) Morgan, Jacinda (Rodney Mullen) Thompson, Dusty Setser, Shea Setser, Samantha Setser; daughter-in-law Juymae Thompson; as well as 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 25, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Thursday May 26, from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
