Mr. Alvin Jay Yoder, age 74, of Salem, passed away Friday, July 29 at University of Louisville Hospital.

Mr. Yoder was born October 20, 1947, in Noble County, Indiana the son of Henry M. Yoder and Polly E. Miller Yoder.  He was a member of Agape Ministries in Salem and had been a pastor since 1980.  He started Yoder Cabinet Shop in 1969.

Alvin is survived by his wife:  Rose Mullet Yoder.  They were married September 18, 1966.  He is also survived by three sons:  Wendell Yoder (Christianne) of Salem, Carson Yoder (Leslie) of Columbus, and Mark Yoder (Anna) of Fredericksburg, a daughter:  Diane Swartzentruber (Tony) of Goshen, two brothers:  Wilbur Yoder (Delila) of Hutchinson, Kansas, and J.R. Yoder (Fern) of Evansville, three sisters:  Carolyn Miller (Norm) of Middlebury, Indiana, Anna Herbes  (Frank) of Howe, Indiana, and Kathryn Yoder (Wilbur) of Goshen, Indiana, 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister:  Ruth Yoder, and two grandchildren:  Keygan Matlock and Caleb Swartzentruber.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 2 at 10:00AM at Agape Ministries, 1002 Lee Street, Salem, Indiana.  Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 3-5PM and 6-8PM and Tuesday from 9AM-time of services at Agape Ministries, 1002 Lee Street, Salem.
