SCHEDULE UPDATE: Remaining culvert replacements moved to next week on S.R. 135 in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, Ind.— Indiana Department of Transportation maintenance crews are currently replacing a culvert north of Vallonia on S.R. 135 in Jackson County. State Road 135 is closed to thru traffic at this location and is scheduled to reopen around 3:30 p.m. this afternoon.

Two additional culverts were scheduled to be replaced on Thursday and Friday this week, one located north of Vallonia and the second further south near the Muscatatuck River bridge. This work has been rescheduled to Tuesday and Wednesday next week (Oct. 19 and 20), weather permitting.

Daily closures will take place both days from around 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Each culvert is expected to take approximately one day to replace. Access will be maintained for local traffic during each closure. Thru traffic should use an alternate route.

Motorists are reminded to slow down, use extra caution, and drive distraction-free in and near all work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
