Martha Floyd, Alene Smith, Barbara Knight and Ruth Barnett were given special recognition for donating over 1,000 hours of service as members of the Washington County Memorial Hospital auxiliary.
More than 600 Asgrow Seed Company dealers, including Jerry Myers, Campbellsburg, attended the company's annual dealer meeting in St. Louis.
Two Washington County students received degrees from Indiana Wesleyan University during the university's 95th commencement. Local graduates are, Jennifer Louise Gibson, Pekin, B.S. in nursing and Sherron Michelle Ramsey, Pekin, master of education.
The West Washington FFA soil judging teams competed in the Pike County Invitational judging contest. Placing first as a team in the junior division was Justin Cox, Josh Marrow and Jonathan Sorrels.
Salem Mayor Doug Campbell joins Baron Hill, the Democratic candidate for congress from the Ninth District, in watching races during the Indiana Working Families Weekend at the Salem Speedway.
Jeremy Ingram of Salem, finished first and third in two races held by the Buckeye Mini-Sprint Association at Fleming County Speedway in Goddard, Kentucky.
