The Posey Township Volunteer Fire Department is hosting Trunk or Treat and a chili supper on Saturday, Oct. 26, beginning at 2 p.m. The fire station is located at 10550 South Radcliff Road, Hardinsburg.
The public is invited.
The youth from the Canton and Salem United Methodist churches are hosting a Lollipop Pull, Saturday, Oct. 26, on the front lawn of the Salem United Methodist Church, 202 East Market Street, Salem. The event will begin at 5 p.m.
Children of all ages are invited to step right up and pull a lollipop from a pumpkin. Each player gets to keep the lollipop they choose. If the lollipop they choose has a colored mark on the end of the stick, that player keeps the lollipop and gets a prize treat.
Bracelets and pinwills are free as long as supplies last.
The public is invited.
The Warming Station is hosting a volunteer information session Tuesday, Oct. 15, 6 p.m., at the Salem Presbyterian Church, 110 North High Street, Salem.
The purpose of the meting is to give people an opportunity to learn about ways to volunteer. Attending the meeting does not obligate anyone to be a volunteer. It is just an opportunity to learn more about how the warming station operates and how people can get involved.

DETAILS:
At approximately 3:21 pm on Saturday, October 12, a single vehicle accident occurred on East State Road 60 near the intersection of Voyles Road. Witnesses on scene stated that there were several vehicles traveling west on State Road 60 when a pickup truck attempted to pass multiple vehicles at the same time. There was oncoming traffic in the eastbound lane and the truck attempted to merge back into the westbound lane between 2 vehicles. As the truck began to merge, Joseph Harper Sr. (52 years old of Pekin) and his wife Tonya Harper (51 years old of Pekin) were forced off the roadway in their 2016 Toyota Highlander. Their vehicle left the roadway and then overturned before coming to a stop.
The driver of the pickup truck left the scene without stopping.
Joseph and Tonya were transported to Baptist Health Floyd by the Washington County Ambulance Service for treatment of injuries not believed to be life threatening.
The Washington County Republican Party will be hosting a "Meet and Greet The Candidates" on Thursday, Oct. 17, 6-8 p.m., at H & R Bakery. The bakery is located on the northeast side of the Salem Public Square.
Voters will have the opportunity to meet with the local Republican candidates and discuss issues that are close to the hearts of community members.
