Salem, IN – The Washington County Family YMCA invites the community to participate in our Raffle, offering participants the chance to win a brand-new 2024 Bronco Sport!
The drawing will take place on June 19th at the Washington County 4-H Fair at 6:00 p.m., creating an exciting opportunity for participants to support a great cause and potentially drive away in a fantastic vehicle.
Tickets for the raffle cost $100 each, with a maximum of 2,000 tickets available. As of today, approximately 220 tickets have been sold, meaning the odds of winning are better than ever!
The raffle launched on May 11th, and the opportunity to win and support your community is still open!
Proceeds from this raffle will support the Beth Armstrong – Y For All Capital Campaign, an ambitious initiative aimed at raising $4.0 million to build an indoor community recreation center and a much-needed childcare center in Washington County. This campaign is crucial for expanding our reach and improving our services to better meet the needs of youth and families in our community.

• Each ticket costs $100.
• The raffle opportunity will be open through June 19th, with the drawing taking place live at the Washington County 4-H Fair at 6:00 pm. Participants do not need to be present to win.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ind. — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor RAM Construction Services plans to begin work on State Road 60 (Salem Bypass) on or after Monday, June 17, to complete a series of bridge rehabilitation projects near Salem.
Work will take place on S.R. 60 at three different locations between Jackson Street and State Road 56 and is expected to be complete by early August, weather permitting. Temporary traffic signals will be utilized while work is in progress. Crews will begin to place signage in the area prior to the start of construction.
This work is part of contract awarded to RAM Construction in December 2023. The contract includes a total of three bridge projects located on S.R. 60 in Washington County. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
Eight Washington County residents invite you to take a stroll in their gardens on Saturday, June 29, from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. and Sunday, June 30, from 1 p.m.- 4 p.m. This event will take place rain or shine.
You can buy your tickets in advance for $15 from Loy & Fordyce Insurance, Merle Norman Cosmetics or at any participating garden both days of the event for $20.
This event is presented by Good Earth Master Gardeners of Washington County.

Thanks to the generous donors to Washington County Community Foundation, a $3,375.00 grant was awarded to Outside the Walls.
The grant will help provide wheelchair ramps for elderly and disabled persons to provide a safe way for them to enter and exit their homes.
Outside the Walls (OTW) is a non-profit organization dedicated to unifying Washington County through a community outreach program which includes emergency assistance in the form of shelter, utilities, counseling and referral services. There are approximately 25 current service providers in Washington County.

The Capital Campaign represents the Y's commitment to providing quality childcare and vital indoor recreation spaces, addressing critical needs in the community.
