Community Action of Southern Indiana will host Festi-Fall at Jeffersonville’s Depot in NoCo, on Friday October 18 from 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm. This celebration under the stars is presented by the City of Jeffersonville and all proceeds will benefit Community Action of Southern Indiana. Festi-Fall will feature live entertainment by the Jesse Lees and a “pumpkin pull” featuring bourbon, wine, and local merchandise. Three different food trucks will provide Mexican, Asian, and American cuisines and a full bar will be available.
The evening will also feature updates on CASI’s community-building efforts and testimonials from people who have directly benefitted from CASI’s programs.
Tickets are $84 and include one drink ticket and two tasting tickets to the meal truck vendors.
The Depot at NoCo is located in Jeffersonville’s arts district at 701 Michigan Avenue.

The Pekin Methodist Church is seeking a variety of vendors for their Mistletoe Market Place, which will be help at the church Saturday, November 2, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
All types of vendors are needed, including home business products, homemade crafts, etc.
The market place is being sponsored by the Pekin Methodist ladies' group. All proceeds will be used for missions.

TYPE OF OCCURRENCE: Motor Vehicle Collision with injuries
DATE OF OCCURRENCE: Wednesday, October 9th, 2024.
LOCATION OF OCCURRENCES: U.S. Highway 150 @ Joseph Street, Hardinsburg.
INVESTIGATING OFFICER: Lt. Lucas Gray
ASSISTING OFFICERS: Deputies Maxwell Mitchell, Devin Hopkins, and Joshua Blankenbaker.
DEPARTMENTS INVOLVED: Washington County Sheriff's Department, Washington County Ambulance Service, and the Posey Township Fire Department.
DETAILS: On Wednesday morning, October 9th, at approximately 5:31 A.M., deputies of the Washington County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to U.S. 150 in Hardinsburg, near the intersection of Joseph Street, in reference to a two-vehicle collision with injury. The Washington County Ambulance Service, and the Posey Township Fire Department also responded.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies observed the vehicles involved to be a 2002 Saturn SL1 and a 2013 Dodge Ram. Both vehicles had sustained front driver's side damage.
Driver statement and evidence at the scene indicated the Saturn, driven by Wayne Johnson, age 36, of Livonia, was east bound on 150. The Dodge Ram, driven by Christopher Oneal, age 47, of Greenville, was west bound on 150, when it crossed left of center, and struck the oncoming Saturn.
Johnson was transported to Harrison County Hospital for injuries which were not believed to be life threatening. Oneal was not injured. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
U.S. Highway 150 was closed for approximately one hour.

Community Facilities Direct Loan and Grant Program
The purpose of the Community Facilities Direct Loan and Grant Program from the US Department of Agriculture is to provide funding to develop essential community facilities in rural areas. Projects supported through this program must demonstrate substantial community support and facilities must serve the rural area where they are or will be located. Rural areas must have no more than 20,000 residents according the the latest US Census Data.
