Mrs. Claus's gift shoppe

Awareness Washington County was hit hard when their annual chili cook-off was canceled due to COVID- 19. The spring event is the organization’s biggest fundraiser.

In response, the group has put together a Christmas market, Mrs. Claus’s gift shoppe. The market will feature vendors set up and socially distanced in the Awareness building at 198 W. Joseph St.

The event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Deni Stempowski, one of the organizers of the event, said there will be something for everyone. “There are 14 vendors, a variety of direct sales and crafters.”

Some of the items will include woodworking, wreaths, goat soap, candles, poured painting, bath bombs and 31 Gifts, just to name a few.

Also, the Awareness group will be offering baked goods for sale. Stempowski said, “The baked goods can be taken home or snacked on while shopping.”

Gun raffle tickets will also be avail- able for sale. This is another fundraiser the group is doing. One ticket is a $10 donation to Awareness Washington County and gives the recipient a chance at one of two guns.

A .270 Winchester Hunting Workhorse with scope from Savage has been provided by Weaponspro. Ed Stempowski has donated a Ruger Wrangler Single Action .22 caliber revolver. The drawing will take place on Dec. 1.

You must be 21 years old to purchase a ticket and must be legally able to own a firearm. In addition, the winners must be able to pass a background check. Weaponspro is taking care of the necessary paperwork. If one of the winners does not meet all three requirements, another winner will be chosen.

All attendees will be asked to wear a mask, as all vendors will also be wearing one.

The holidays will be here soon and this one-stop gift shoppe is the perfect chance to get started on your shopping.
