Winter Guard revived at Salem High School

Every student strives to find their place in the high school world when they enter as a freshman. It’s a new opportunity to create yourself, find your friends, find your passion. For Billy (Davis) de Barbarac and Lindsay Mays, they found their place with the winter guard and director Richard Trueblood 20-plus years ago when they were students.
This year, the two returned to their roots and revived the winter guard program at Salem High School. The team of five members started out with a group of students knowing little to nothing about the sport, to finish second place in their division for the season.
This year’s guard members included SHS juniors Delainey Predmore and Emily Setser and Salem Middle School eighth graders, McKenna Miller, Timothy Pate and Madison Setser.
