West Washington Board of Trustees Regular Session

The Board of School Trustees of West Washington School Corporation met in regular session at 7:00 p.m. in room 175 of the West Washington High School on Monday, October 16, 2023. 

Present: Sal Sama, President; Carri Cambron, Vice President; Adam Brown, Secretary; Claude Combs, Member; Brian Farmer, Member; Tim Barksdale, Member; Stephanie Keltner, Member; Keith Nance, Superintendent; Sarah Burks, Secretary.

Public: Chad Johnson, Darrin Russell, Savanah Bowers and Leauna Springer.

President Sama opened the meeting. Adam Brown moved to approve the bank reconciliation/fund report. The motion was seconded by Tim Barksdale, passing 7-0.

Adam Brown moved to approve the claims/transfers as presented. The motion was seconded by Carri Cambron, passing 7-0.

Claude Combs moved to accept the minutes from 9-18-23. Tim Barksdale seconded the motion, passing 7-0.

Claude Combs moved to approve the amended Personnel Report (attached). The motion was seconded by Tim Barksdale, passing 7-0.

In new business, Claude Combs moved to adopt the 2024 Budget inclusive of the following: Education Fund, Debt Service Fund, Operations Fund, Rainy Day Fund and Resolutions pertaining to the budget. The motion was seconded by Brian Farmer, passing 7-0. 

A.D. Darrin Russell was in attendance to discuss a petition about starting a girl's golf team at West Washington High School. No action was taken at this time. 

The corporation treasurer asked for permission to increase the limit of the corporation Wal-Mart credit card to $5,000 from $3,000. Tim Barksdale moved to approve an increase on the limit with Claude Combs seconding. Motion passed, 7-0. 

Adam Brown moved to approve the following field trips:

11/11/23-10th-12th graders to IUS for an open house

11/13/23-9th-12th graders to Ivy Tech Bloomington for campus tour

11/28/23-Mr. Eisele & Health Science class to IU Office of Admissions

12/7/23-Mr. Eisele & CNA Prep class to Salem Crossing

1/19/24-Mr. Eisele & HOSA to Indiana Farmers Coliseum

2/8/24-Mr. Eisele & CAN Prep Class to Salem Crossing

Stephanie Keltner seconded the motion, passing 7-0.

With no furthur business, the meeting was adjourned.
