State makes $25 million available for Career Coaching Grants

The Indiana Commission for Higher Education is accepting applications until Friday, March 1

The Indiana Commission for Higher Education is accepting applications for the Career Coaching grant until Friday, March 1, 2024, at 5 p.m. ET. The Indiana General Assembly created the Career Coaching grant during the 2023 legislative session and appropriated $25 million over the biennium to provide students with comprehensive and relevant information about career pathways.

“The Commission would like to extend its thanks to the Indiana General Assembly for recognizing the need for an aligned system for career coaching and navigation,” said Indiana Commissioner for Higher Education Chris Lowery. “With intentional and individualized career coaching support, Hoosier students will explore their interests, engage with leading Indiana employers, and experience high-demand pathways beyond high school.”

Grants will be awarded to school corporations, public schools (including charter schools), state-accredited nonpublic schools, approved intermediaries, and approved career coaching providers. The grant application and budget worksheet are available on the Commission’s website.

To be eligible for the grant, applications must include at least one school and either an approved intermediary or career coaching provider. The list of approved intermediaries and career coaching providers can be found here. Intermediaries and career coaching providers who wish to be included on the list must complete a brief form. The grant period will run from March 1, 2024, to December 31, 2025.

Notification of award status will be sent to applicants in April 2024.
