IDOE grant helping Salem students REACH new heights

Salem High School students have been benefiting from a REACH (Re-Imagining, Enrichment, Academics and Community Health) grant through the Indiana Department of Education.
The grant allows students, with the help of staff, to tap into personal interests and interact with like-minded students they might not otherwise have the opportunity to get to know.
Some of those students shared stories about those programs and the successes the grant has allowed to take place ranging from cooking club, to journalism club, to hiking groups and several others.
Lori Hazelip and Jana Hayes oversee the grant for Salem and are excited about the number of opportunities afforded to students through it.
The grant started during the 2021-22 school year.
