EWMS holds fundraiser to benefit teacher's family
East Washington Middle School is taking care of their own. When teacher Carla Coahran's husband, Brian, was diagnosed with cancer, he was sent to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota for treatment and a stem cell transplant. No part of that is easy for the family, so Coahran's school family is hoping to ease at least part of the financial burden that comes with fighting cancer.
The school is hosting a benefit at the EWMS cafeteria, with the spaghetti dinner starting at 6 p.m. on May 19. Admission costs $8 and children 10 and younger are $5. There will be a silent auction from 5:30 to 7 p.m., so come early to get a look at that.
