Home, Garden and Business Expo right around the corner

Despite the cold temperatures of late, spring will be here soon. This means it's time for the annual Leader Publishing Company's Home, Garden and Business Expo, held at the Washington County Fairgrounds. The dates for this year's event are Friday, April 21, and Saturday, April 22.

The Canton Lions Club will be serving fish and more on Friday night, starting at 5 p.m. After enjoying your meal, visitors are invited to browse the vendor booths until 8 p.m.

Saturday's activities start at 9 a.m. and will end at noon.

Every vendor has a drawing for a prize valued at $25 or more. In addition, grand prizes will be available to all who visit every booth and return their marked cards during the two days. The drawing will be Saurday afternoon.

If there is something you need for your home or garden, chances are there will be someone there to talk to. Watch upcoming editions of The Salem Leader and The Salem Democrat for a list of vendors.

If you have a business that you would like to promote, contact Tom Fultz, advertising manager, at 812-883-3281 for more information.

Vallonia Tree Nursery will be providing free trees again this year. The types of trees will be announced closer to the event. Instructions on how to care for the trees will be in the annual Home, Garden and Business Expo section, available to all subscribers of the newspaper and those who attend the two-day event.

"The Home, Garden and Business Expo gives exhibitors a chance to display their products, landscaping, home improvement services, and so much more, at one destination," said Rhonda Smith, general manager.
