Last minute changes for candidate filings

Some last minute changes came in before the deadline for candidate filings on Friday.
One race that saw two new names enter is that of Washington County auditor. Incumbent Republican Randall Bills faces a new opponent for the primary, Republican Kyra Stephenson. Tony Maranto, who had previously filed to run, pulled his name before the filing withdraw deadline on Monday.
Also new to the race is Democrat Judy K. Chastain, who will run unopposed for the primary.
A new name also entered the county recorder race. Democrat Lindsey Robbins will now face Democrat Anna Briscoe in May. On the Republican ticket, Terri Graves and Tim Rodman have both filed.
The county sheriff race has three Republicans: Wayne Blevins, Tracey England and Roy Overshiner and two Democrats: William Denham and Brent Miller.
Other races for the May primary are: Republicans Todd Ewen and Preston Shell who are seeking the county commissioner district 2 seat; Republicans Benjamin Bowling and Sabrina Burdine have been joined by Jason Cockerill for the county council district 1 seat; Republicans Jason Nelson and Karen Wischmeier will face each other for the party’s county council district 4 nomination.
Unopposed races for the primary include Republican Dustin Houchin, who is seeking re-election for the county prosecutor position; Republican Greg Ball, who is seeking to keep his position as county assessor, and Republican Brad Gilbert and Democrat Claude Combs will face off in November for the county council district 3 seat.
At the state level, Republican Steve Davisson, who is the current State Representative for District 73, will face Buford Dewitt in the primary for the party’s nomination for the general election.
Republican incumbent Erin Houchin and Democrat Nick Siler will be unopposed for the primary for the State Senator, District 47 seat.
In the United States Representative, 9th congressional district race, incumbent Republican Trey Hollingsworth will face James Alspach. Democrats have three choices for the nomination: Dan Cannon, Rob Chatlos and Liz Watson.
Current United States Senator Democrat Joe Donnelly will run unopposed for the primary. On the Republican ticket, three candidates are seeking election: Mike Braun, Luke Messer and Todd Rokita.
In trustee races, Republicans David Brown and Sharon Roberts have filed for the Brown Township trustee position; three candidates have filed for the township’s trustee board: Republican Randy Roberts and Democrats Gary Chastain and Tom Guthrie.
Republican Steven Anderson is the only candidate for Franklin Township trustee; candidates for the trustee board are: Republicans Scott Applegate, Barry Durbin and R V Meadors and Democrat Sandra Cottongim.
Gibson Township trustee candidates are Republicans Kimberly Fleming and Rachel Wischmeier; candidates for Gibson Township advisory board are: Republican Raymond Scott Browning, Democrats Dorothy Fleenor, Steve Fleenor, Steve Johnson and Andrew Mull.
Howard Township Trustee candidates are: Democrats Joseph Keith and Kathleen Zelivetz; Democrat Earlene Silverthorn is the only candidate for the advisory board.
Republican Matthew Incantalupo is the only candidate for Jackson Township trustee; advisory board candidates are: Republican Wm Craig Martin, Democrats Roy Dick and William Yates.
Democrat Marnie Bennett has filed for Jefferson Township trustee; advisory board members who have filed are: Republicans Jamie Bennett, Landon Sullivan and Shannon Sullivan.
Republican Lee Badger has filed as Madison Township Trustee; candidates for the advisory board are: Republicans Brian Blevins and William Van Cleave and Democrats Patricia Keator and Tammy Worley.
Monroe Township trustee candidates are Republicans Susan Boling and Angela Wilson and Democrat Chris Spurgeon; candidates for the advisory board are Republicans Amy Cornett, Ruth Gay and Kay Mills.
Republican Dennis Fleming, Sr., has filed for the Pierce Township trustee position; Republicans Stephanie Farler, Scott Miller, Shannon Nale, Jeffrey Pickerill and Stephen Purlee have filed for the advisory board.
Two Republicans have filed for the Polk Township trustee seat: Cameron Stahl and Clair Sullivan, Jr.; candidates for the advisory board are: Republicans Eric Albertson, Geneva Bagshaw and Jeremy Souder and Democrat Doris J. Rickard.
Republican Ken Armstrong and Democrat Gary Roll, Jr., have filed for Posey Township Trustee; candidates for the advisory board are Republicans Beth Armstrong and Marvin Jenks and Democrats Melissa Farmer and Jerome Jacobi.
Democrat Marsha Guthrie has filed for the Vernon Township trustee; advisory board candidates are: Democrats Tommy Green and David Routh.
Republican Brice Robinson has filed for the Washington Township trustee. Candidates for the advisory board are: Republicans D Jack Mahuron and Norman Souder.
