Ruby Irene Chastain, age 98 of Leesburg, Florida passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017, in the Villages Hospice Cornerstone Hospice Florida. Born October 18, 1918 in Campbellsburg, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Elbert Hershman and Trixie (Thompson Hershman. She was a homemaker, a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church and attended the Christ United Methodist Church in Leesburg, where they have spent the last several years since retirement. She was a charter member of the Phi Beta Psi Sorority, a member of the Salem Rebekah Lodge # 188 and was a member of the Pekin Grange and a former officer of the Indiana State Grange. Ruby married in 1938 to James Arthur Chastain, who passed away January 5, 2011, they were married for 72 years. Survivors include: Foster Son: Ronnie (Joyce) Todd, Leesburg, Florida; Grandson: Wesley Todd, Weirsdale, Florida; 2 great granddaughters: Natalee and Scarlett of Wildwood, Florida, Niece: Reva Jean Terret of Bloomington and 2 step grandchildren: Jenny Woodward (Brian) and Jeremy Ingram. She was preceded in death by her husband, Identical Twin Sister, Ruth Chastain on May 20, 2011, Brother, Orvil Hershman and 2 nieces, Brenda Kay and Carolyn June.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Wednesday, May 17, at the Dawalt Funeral Home
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Tuesday, May 16, and after 9 am Wednesday, May 17.
Interment at Claysville Cemetery.
