Libertarian party to host firearm safety event

Posted

The Libertarian Parties of Southern Indiana will host an Intro to Basic Firearm Safety for women on April 15 beginning at 9 am at the Clark State Forest Gun Range.

“The LP supports the right to bear arms for self defense as well as recreational shooting and hunting. We also believe that with that right comes a responsibility to be safe and proficient with the use of your firearm,” LP of Clark County Vice-Chair Russell Brookbank said.

Attendees should gather at the Forestry Office. Loaner weapons will be available, but attendees need to bring their own ammunition. Loaners will include at .22, 9mm and .223. Ear plugs and safety glasses are required. Personal weapons brought must arrive unloaded.

As this is being held on the day federal income taxes are often due, participants are invited to bring copies of their 1040s to use as targets.

This event is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted. For more information contact Shawn Bostock at 812-989-9381.
