Jaylee Madyson Stone, 9, of Evansville, passed away on August 5, 2017, at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, due to injuries suffered in a car accident.
Jaylee was a beautiful, funny, sensitive child with a heart of gold. She had three loves in her life: her family, her friends, and gymnastics. She was a competitive gymnast for four years and had aspirations to go to UCLA to compete on their gymnastics team. Her life was dedicated to the gym. There she found her best friends and enjoyed spending her time. Her smile lit up a room, and her focus and dedication were inspiring. Her loss weighs heavily on her family and friends, as well as the gymnastics community.
She is survived by her mother and father, Emily and Jeremy Stone; younger brother, Wes; cousins, Larissa, Haley, Elise, Savannah, Cooper, Douglas, and Blaine; aunts and uncles, Chris and Krista Webb, Rob and Kari Bowers, Flint and Alyssa Larson; grandparents, Rich and Donna Douglas, Kim and David Stone; great-grandparents, Harold and Ruth Jackson and Bob Oswalt.
She was preceded in death by her uncle, Jason Stone, and her cousin, Molly Larson.
A visitation will be held on Sept. 25 from 3-7 p.m. at Christian Fellowship Church, located at 4100 Millersburg Rd. in Evansville. Due to the family’s current situation tending to their rehabilitating son in St. Louis, contributions to the Ronald McDonald House or the Nastia Liukin Fund would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
