All three local school corporations will hold Veterans Day programs and all three are inviting veterans to participate.
West Washington will hold a Veterans Day Program Friday, Nov. 10,at 10 a.m. in the Fortner Gymnasium. Lunch will be provided for veterans and family members attending the program. Please RSVP with your name, branch of service and number of guests attending the lunch by Friday, Nov. 3, at 812-755-4996.
The Bradie Shrum Elementary School 5th Grade Choir, along with other 5th grade student speakers, will present a Veterans Day program, “You Are Our Heroes,” on Friday, Nov. 10, at 9:30 a.m. in the school’s multi-purpose room.
The program will include a variety of patriotic music, inspirational messages and recognition of veterans. Staff Sergeant Kurtis Walters, United States Army, will be the guest speaker.
“All veterans, current members of the military, and members of the community are invited to attend this event as we salute our local American heroes,” said Andrea Suvak, choir director.

The Bradie Shrum second graders and percussion ensemble will present a Veterans Day program, The Brave, on Nov. 10, at 1 p.m. at the BSE Multi-Purpose Room. This program will feature second grade students who will honor all veterans and introduce some veterans which some of the students know. There will be patriotic music and a ceremony to salute all veterans.
The program is free, open to the public and all veterans are cordially invited.

The East Washington Middle School Student Council would like to invite the public to their Veterans Day program on Friday, Nov. 10, at 1 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.
At 1:30 p.m., veterans are invited to a program at East Washington Elementary School.
The community Veteran’s Day program is Saturday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. on the courthouse lawn. Retired Col. Patrick Boucher will be the guest speaker. American Legion/VFW Ladies Auxiliaries will place a memorial wreath on the Veterans Monument on the north side of the courthouse.
