WW and SHS headed to Sectional finals, EHS moves on as well

The Lady Lions bench celebrates the action on the court as Salem advances to the nexts round. 

All three county girls teams kept their seasons alive on Friday night. Eastern played their first game of sectional after being delayed due to weather. They had all tough task in Providence and the Pioneers gave them all they could handle. Eastern clung to an 8-7 lead at the half, but expanded it in the second half to hold on to win 27-24. They will play Paoli in the semi-final round on Saturday night at 7:30. 

West Washington played Shawe Memorial in teh second round of the Edinburgh sectional and they had very little trouble. They led the Hilltoppers 43-1 at the half and cruised to a 60-10 to punch their ticket to the champioship game. They will play Trinity Lutheran in the championship game at 7:30 p.m.

Salem had a bit of a challenge on their hand. They battled Silver Creek and pulled ahead in the second quarter after outscoring the Dragons 15-2 to take a 24-9 lead into the locker room. But Silver Creek still had some fight in them. They put on a three point barrage in the 3rd quarter to trim the Lions lead down to 1 in the fourth quater. But Salem connected on numerous free throws to hold off the Dragons and clinch their spot in the championship game. They will play Brownstown at 7:30 to try and claim their second sectional championship in a row.
