Spring sports signups

It's time to sign up for baseball, softball and soccer!

The YMCA will be having fundamental soccer for kids ages 3 to 8 with sign up deadline being March 18. Older soccer players can sign up for the Salem soccer club with teams 10U, 12U and 15 U. Signup deadline is March 20.

For all the baseball and softball players out there, all leagues, including Salem, Hardinsburg and Pekin are currently having signups. 

• East Washington: Youth who are interested in playing baseball or softball in the East Washington Youth League can now sign up to play. The leagues include T-ball, baseball up through 15U and softball from 8U to 12U.

Go to EWBSA.com to sign up until Sunday, March 7. Late registration will be accepted through Monday, March 15.

• Salem: The Salem Parks and Recreation Department has started registering children for T-ball, baseball and softball at the Salem Senior Center, 1705 N. Shelby Street, Salem.   Masks are required when signing up and they ask that just the parent or guardian come to sign-ups.

Sign-ups  are Saturday, March 6, from 10 a.m. to noon and Sunday, March 7, from noon to 2 p.m. 

Children must turn 4 years old within the 2021 calendar year to sign up. First year players must supply an official copy of a birth certificate. The leagues include boys ages 4 -12 years old and girls age 4 to fifth grade. The cost is $40 for each player. 

• Hardinsburg: The Hardinsburg Little League Association will be registering children on the following dates at the Fellowship Hall, 9271 US-Hwy 150, Hardinsburg (the old Bearcat Center). Leagues offered are T-ball, baseball and softball. Masks are required to sign up and the association asks that only one person come.

Sign-ups from 5 to 7 p.m. on March  8, with morning sign-ups on Saturday, March 6, from 10 a.m. to noon. No sign-ups will be allowed after Monday, March 8. Boys and girls, age 3 to 5th grade can register. First year players must supply an official copy of a birth certificate. The cost is $40 for each player.
