Pigskin Picks contest to begin!

Popular contest gets an upgrade

It’s time to kick off football season and with that fall tradition comes another tradition, the Leader’s annual Pigskin Picks contest. We’re excited to announce that Pigskin Picks is going to get an upgrade, a shake-up, if you will.

The basis of the contest remains the same. Choose the winner of local high school games, college and even NFL games and then write the name of the sponsor of each particular game on the entry form. Deadline is still 5 p.m. on Friday and there will still be weekly winners.

The person with the most football prowess that week (or the best guesser) gets the touchdown prize of a $30 prize from Country Cookin’, while the second place winner will receive the PAT prize, a $20 gift card to Salem’s newest restaurant, ½ Fast Food. 

The third place winner will be randomly drawn from the remaining entries and will be credited for a fumble recovery. That person will win a $15 Papa John’s gift card. The Leader staff hopes for no intentional grounding on this particular change, and that everyone will give the contest their best college try.

At the end of the 10-week contest there will be a reward for the person who racks up the most wins, a $50 Domino gift card.
