Boys playing volleyball at Salem

The Salem Lions now have a boys club volleyball team playing this spring as the IHSAA explores potentially making it a varsity sport.

“There are a lot of schools in the area that are getting or have club volleyball teams," said Head Coach Straton Thomas. "Charlestown did it last year. Floyd Central has had it for a couple years now. Providence has done it for a couple years. It started up north and there are a bunch of teams up there that have clubs, and they want it to get sanctioned.

Salem has been practicing for almost two months now and has played in a handful of games with mixed results. They will play their first and only home game of the season tonight against Silver Creek.
